Stone Mountain Fire

Four Mile Fire Department played a crucial role in protecting homes during the intense Stone Mountain Fire. Assigned to the structure protection group, they worked tirelessly to clear debris and cut trees near residences along Stone Mountain Drive. When the fire surged and crossed the road, Four Mile's Engine 4631 was ready.

As flames crept closer, 4631 set up a progressive hose lay to defend a home on the west side of the road, holding their position as the fire intensified due to shifting winds and changing fuel. Thanks to the combined efforts of neighboring agencies and the homeowners, who had mitigated vegetation around their homes, the team successfully safeguarded multiple houses from the advancing blaze.

The crew's teamwork and dedication were evident, and their efforts paid off, leaving them proud of the difference they made.
