Large scale mitigation projects.

The Four Mile Fire Crew spearheads large-scale fire mitigation projects in order to protect the community and restore forest health. Mitigation is a benefit to the community for xyz reasons.

We work in collaboration with grant funding and Boulder Watershed Collective, etc etc

  • Poorman Fire Break

    Project completed in 2022 – felling, limbing, chipping, and the construction of pile burns were all integral to project completion

  • Gold Hill Ashram

    Project completed in 2023. This project spanned 2021 –2023 and developed a necessary fuel break around the Sacred Mountain Ashram. Project work followed the Colorado State Forest Service (CSFS) prescription for shaded fuel breaks and was accomplished partially through grant funding.

  • Eagles Drive

    Project begun in 2023. This project will develop a fuel break on private property to the southeast of the Poorman project. The Crew constructed burn piles over the course of the season that will likely be burned this winter or next.

  • Arroyo Chico

    Project work to begin in 2024. This collaborative project was developed to implement a fuel break on private property off Arroyo Chico.
