Department Mission

The Four Mile Fire Protection District provides professional fire and medical first response to our community. We are a combination agency with 30 rostered volunteers and a paid fire crew of three full-time firefighters.

With the support of our neighboring fire departments and with the expertise brought by our committed, mostly volunteer roster, we fulfill our mission of protecting life, property and public lands in our district.

Our full-time crew has managed over $1.3 million in grant programs, mostly designed to provide wildfire mitigation and implement other disaster preparedness projects.

Our robust wildland fire program has supported initial attack suppression activities throughout our county and the State of Colorado, and our firefighters have participated in wildfire assignments in nearly all of the western United States, Georgia and Virginia.

As a progressive fire department, we constantly aim to improve in delivering the highest standard of service to our community, and we welcome feedback and input from our residents.

Most importantly, as a volunteer agency, we need your support! Please consider volunteering as a firefighter or auxiliary support member; or donate to our department.
